Vistytis Stone

The Vištytis stone, which is among the top ten largest boulders in Lithuania, is also called the Magical, Big Stone. The height of the boulder is 4 meters, the width is 4,74 meters, and the length is 7,10 meters. The Vištytis stone is distinguished by its unusual shape: the boulder has a hollow at the top, where rainwater collects, surrounded by various legends. It is said that the devil was angry with Vištytis and wanted to destroy the church. Carrying a large stone late at night to destroy the church, but at twelve o'clock the rooster crowed and it had to drop the boulder before it could get it to the church. As there were many stones in this area, the old nick wanted to mark the stone by putting its foot on it.
