Sūrinis Telmological Reserve, covering an area of 24 ha, protects a high marsh with a small Sūrinis Lake, the area of which is only 2.6 ha. Sūrinis Bog is characterized by the greatest maximum depth of the peat layer, which reaches 10 m.When spring comes, we want to spend as much time as possible surrounded by nature. However, it is precisely at this time, when we want to enjoy the peace provided by nature and get to know the life that has awakened in it after the winter, the season of young birds and mammals begins, so nature needs as much silence and peace as possible. In order to protect the breeding peace of nesting birds and mammals, and the plants from being trampled, according to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, it is forbidden to visit telmological reserves from April 1st to August 1st. These reserves are intended to protect typical and unique wetland complexes.
